eHS(S) was designed to facilitate administration and monitoring of the Elderly Health Care Voucher (EHV) Scheme and Vaccination Subsidy Schemes (VSS). It is a web-based system through which vouchers under the EHV Scheme are issued and used, obviating the need for paper-form vouchers. Elders can also check their voucher balance by accessing the system through internet or telephone. For VSS, eHS(S) enables healthcare providers to check patients' vaccination records prior to vaccination so as to prevent duplicated dose and enhance patient safety.
