J-Care Project is the first Virtual Reality (VR) project launched in Hong Kong which allows people enter into the world of dementia. With the first person view, participants are able to feel the difficulties and feelings encountered by the patients in different scenarios which caused by the symptoms; while the explanation provided by our trainer helps the participants to have a better understanding on patients’ needs and reactions, it could reduce the labelling effect in the society so as to eliminate the social exclusion. We believe the quality of the elderly homes and services shall be enhanced and improved if the J-Care training is introduced and regarded as necessary training.
