EasyDial enabling end users with complex communication needs to conduct real-time telephone-like conversations, serving as a daily mobile communication tool for people with complex communication needs.
EasyDial uses the AAC pictures (from SAHK) which are digitized as semantic concepts & annotated with cognitive linguistic related labels. The semantic concepts are associated to 15 semantic categories. With linguistic syntax rules (e.g. SVO pattern) implemented into the recommendation engine. Several semantic concepts can be selected to construct sentences in combination of synthesized speech output.
Settings 5 language levels have been designed to fit users with different language abilities. Size of pictures, ways of categorization, and sensitivity of the screen can be customized according to users’ needs. Users can build their personalized contact list for remote conversation with their significant others.
